Thanks guys, I appreciate the vote.
Under batteries, please include not only types, but how to charge, max and min voltages, the plus and minuses of each type. It would be nice to have a reference book.
How to share your submarine on social media or forums.
a modernized make your own electronics would be cool.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

How to's...... methods for... operating, opening torpedo doors, raising/lowering masts & periscopes, floats for recovery of lost models. Navigation lighting, working with LED's.

          Ditto on Tom's picture!

Layout, what to put where. All depends on the type of SD.

            I agree regarding Tom's photo...

But this one....this embodies what most people think is an RC Sub...a TYPE VII or the eponymous Fleet Boat.....
This say's it all and is clearly RC.

Good choice Ed!-I'd really like it with a bit more "trim" (crop) -Photo special thanks to Tom Chalfant. Probably the coolest RC model picture that I have seen.

Disagree....need the air to give it a better sense of "RC: submarine, only wish it had a person with a TX to the left of the tree in the background facing it with a $#*! eating grin.

Make it NOT a Destination Tokyo "movie" model photo.

Photoshop an appropriately blurred Treasurer in there.

Plus room on the cover to overlay text off the bow.

The composition for an RC book just looks better as is, this on the lower half with the Title above.

With the arrival of 3D printers I would include a chapter about that topic:
                          - existing 3D CAD files and how they allow to change to any scale one prefers
                          - a mention of the more common 3D tools (Netfab, Fusion, Tinkercad etc)
                          - some 3D printing basics (lots of good tips in the recent threads on the topic)
                          - how to sand/prime the model after printing
                          - how to protect the model against sunlight etc

3D printing is really starting to take off, and I am sure there are a lot of people that would like to apply this process to sub building!

Actually my name is Andreas. tifosi12 is my avatar name on a racing site and I lacked imagination to come up with something more fitting for this site. If I could, I'd change that now in a heartbeat. :(

Klapautermann would be more fitting. :)
