Looking for alternatives to electronic mixers....

      HWSNBN,
Do you something that will work with the regular 2-2.5" subdriver?

        Hi,

        Why don't you want a V-tail mixer ?
        It works fine.

What?... you can't take the mechanisms illustrated here -- at your request -- and adapt those mechanical principles to you specific need? You need me to hold your beer while you type your plaintive questions?? I should hold your hand through the creative process???

Get off your ass and MAKE THE GOD DAMNED THING! If the first iteration don't work, try again. Keep at it till you have a mixer that works to your satisfaction. It's called, WORK!

I'm gladl to give anyone a steer, but I will be ****ed if I'll wipe their ass for 'em!! I'm not doing your ****ing home-work for you, kid!

It's not that I don't want a "electronic" v-tail mixer but I can't locate a "local" source for it right now. Also the radios I have that are submarine compatible don't have computer mixing. So next best option is a mechanical one. Something that can interface with the SD I already have and not require major modification to the unit. So I can use one SD with say a Seawolf with an + tail one day then transfer the same SD to a Soryu with an X tail the next day.

Found an old thread from 2009 about a Collins class https://forum.rc-sub.com/forum/build...=4919#post4919. Unfortunately the pictures are gone.

Just put your bell crank outside the WTC and drive the bell crank with your pushrod from the WTC.

                  Yes! Thanks Hardrock.
Completely forgot about your 1/96 Soryu build.

I always assumed you need to set up the bell crank assembly completely horizontal (or vertical).

This electronic module is what you need with your radio... a V-Tail mixer.
Don't need mechanical assembly, and would work fine with a standard SD.

Here's what a v-tail mixer does. For more details and explanations, check out this page, where this video is embedded:http://eastbay-rc.blogspot.com/2011/05...

Works just fine at any angle. Its like this because I needed to run one of the control arms over the bulkhead. I'll send you an .stl file if you have access to a printer.

Completely baffled as to why you’d go through the hassle of a mechanical mixer. One tiny module and you’re done.

Now, if you’re going through the exercise to flex some brain cells, then that’s another thing altogether.

Using the same SD in three submarines, only one of which is an 'X' tail. No longer have brain cells, working on muscle memory!
