Meantime I submitted to Jeff Porteous editor Subcommittee Report today the HMS Meteorite story you been kicking me to write. Finished!. A lot more about this boat with other threads that somehow were never connected together before to weave a story for a more comprehensive historical view. Sometimes sub historians ignore some subs because it didn't tally a high score in enemy ships they sank.

But Meteorites is a fascinating tale to me of not only the technical aspects which have been well covered, but more on the maneuverings diplomatically and in the Naval intelligence communities of the period dealing with rapidly evolving new realitys at the end of the Second World War and the beginning of the Cold one. Happy with the write.

Back to quickly finishing the French Suffren!

But I have now two other American subs in 1/48 scale now I'd like to make. A 1/48 USS Albacore twould contrast the other American sub I hope to build from same period also in 1/48.

I started sub modeling with USS Albacore and like to finish my life with the same boat. Smiles. Doctors say I have the time to try. That should keep my mind and shop active with subs till I'm planted too, I guess.

I can't take any credit. That hull master was provided me by Howard. It was printed in China I think. Exacting representation

The robots can do this work quicker, better, and cheaper than I ever could. I've lived too long.

Is that brass tool acting as a broach or a former/shape to fill around?

A former to retain the square outline of the limber holes as I compact blanking clay to form. The master limber holes were pass-throughs and had to be partially blanked off so the tool making rubber would not leak through.
