Now the control surfaces are fitted and working. I'm going to fir the shaft bearings and coupler later tonight. Damn rainy here today.

If I knew how to change this topic I would. There is a distinct lack of Blueback here right now. It arrived today, incidently - the Blueback that is. What a great kit. The level of detail is extrordianry in evey respect. My advice is to go and buy one now before they disappear for ever. I'll get onto that in a few weeks. In any case, this little romp should be titled "Kashalot" - or "Uniform" not Blueback. So, onward with the "Not Blueback" build.
There is a prominent antenna which retracts into the deck at the rear of the sail. I have no idea what its function is but its BIG and LONG so I am assuming that it is an HF antenna of some kind. Anyway its in the right place and the right orientation to be made operational. The plan is to run a control rod along the top of the SD and make the thing go up and down. (I explained this to my wife this afternoon and the look of boredom that crossed her countenance would have frozen a summer lake). I digress; back to the antenna. This is it:
And this is it in the down position:
The SD is fitted as well.

As this thing doesn't seem to have bow planes you could use the bow plane servo to raise and lower the antenna.Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

You could paint a shark mouth underneath the bow at eyes on those bulges...Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

And I see that you dribbled some rust on it. Remarkable job in such a short period of time.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment
