Do they deploy/retract fully with the upper hull off the lower hull?

No .They go 1/4 retract. That's all. Linkage won't travel far enough to make full retract. Upper hull is off

            OK.

Cut away the aluminum tray under the retract servo. Drop the retract servo till the output arm (bell-crank) is at the cylinders maximum diameter. Install a longer bell-crank arm. Send me money. Sing my praises! Register me as a religion!

                    My pleasure, sir.

For the in-water test, pull the tire-valve core, put a flexible hose to its body so you can blow air into the SD. Hold a hand at each end so you don't pop a bulkhead off the cylinder, blow into the hose and dunk the SD into the drink. You're looking for bubbles!

                    Keep us informed.

                    David

All's good in Lone Grove, OK. Did my wtc in water test today and no bubbles. That's a good thing. Happy camper.

Good. Now something horrible will happen. Brace yourself. And don't forget to put that valve core back into the tire-valve body!

Congratulations! Excellent hurdle to be over....now on to fun things like trim!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

going to start putting foam in sunday. What's the best adhesive to use to bond foam to hull.
