RTV silicon - as a tip, take extra time to shape the foam to fit closer to the hull, avoiding air pockets if possible when you make the final placement.

got the ballast kit for the gato from caswell. not for sure where the 6 pieces go. On bottom or sides. I'm thinking bottom and foam on the sides. All so not sure where pink foam goes. The 6 pieces are black with what looks like bird shot in it.
Please let me know. Thank youComment

Start with three of the weights, situated in the center. And, yes, they go in the bottom of the hull. The foam, is equally spaced longitudinally on the sides of the lower hull. The trick is to place the top of the foam even with the boats designed waterline.
Make your initial installation take pictures and we'll guide you in for a safe landing.

Because I said so, damit!
You people!
first you want to work out the amount and longitudinal location of the foam within the hull, with the ballast tank full, so that the boat at rest is on an even keel and just an inch of sail sticking out of the water. Proper submerged trim.
Then, with the ballast tank dry, you will move foam vertically to achieve the correct surfaced waterline.
Done! Happy trails! Kiss the girl. Go home happy.

been gone for a while. back working on sub again. got a little problem. when I turn everything on for the first time everything works fine. when I turn it off and then back on the elevator and ballast do not work. I leave it turned off for about 10 min then
turn it back on everything works again. Everything is hooked up right and full battery. It has the adf2 and lipo guard in it. any ideas.Comment
