What cell count LiPo are you using? Is the LiPo Guard initializing with the correct cell count?

You gotta keep your mitt's off the transmitter when you first turn on the SD -- give all the gizmo's a chance to run through their respective start-up protocols, black-magic, and voodoo rituals. Disturb them during start-up time may shatter the space-time continuum!

I find it useful to smear fresh chicken-blood on the cylinder, as Ellie swears at it Tagalog, before positioning the on/off switch to the on position.

I always turn tranmitter on first wait for a few second then turn SD on. First time everything works. If I turn it off and don't wait at lest 10 min the elevator and ballast will not work. Is that normal?

              All kidding aside ...

              ... No, that's not normal.

As 'elevator' (I assume you mean, 'stern planes') and ballast sub-system both come off the ADF, I would assume the problem is with the ADF. Take the ADF out of the control loop and see if the stern planes and ballast servo work each and every time you turn the system on. If so, there is a problem with the ADF. Are you using the original ADF or the ADF2?

Took the ADF2 Out of the loop. Everything worked everytime. The ADF2 is the problem

Albion is on the right track -- there are some receivers that do not work at all well with the ADF's. I'm sending this thread over to Kevin McLeod, designer and producer of the ADF's for comment. Thanks for working with us on this.

Wait on Kevin's response before buying a new receiver, but if you have a different brand receiver sitting around, plug it into the system and see if it can get along with the ADF2.

I agree it sounds like a receiver thing, and if it's what I suspect it's easy to prove.

                              Test 1
Connect everything together and watch the ADF2's LED as you switch on the power. You should see GREEN + RED, pause, then there ought to be some other sequence of green and red flashes. Please tell me what you see.

                              Test 2

                              1. All power off
                              2. Connect pitch servo to ADF2. (Ballast doesn't matter.)
                              3. Unplug both pitch and ballast connections from the Rx.
                              4. Power up Tx and Rx, confirm you have control on the rudder servo or throttle control.
                              5. With Rx power still applied plug the ADF2's pitch lead into the correct port on the Rx, observe the flash pattern and test for proper pitch control from the transmitter.
