Not as far as I know. It wouldn't be available from ther anyway- not a legal band here in the UK. 35mhz is available (reserved for aircraft use in the Uk, how about Oz?).
72/75 MHZ going out of business? Nah!

40 MHZ might be the only way to sort this out.John Slater

If 36mhz is little used, just purchase a fistful of WFLY TX crystals at 36mhz, and get some synthesized RX's (Sombra, multiplex, Corona etc.).
At the Dive-in's most people are on 40mhz, and we get large numbers sailing. All the same very few frequency clashes- we have about 30 slots to choose from.
One or two come along with 27mhz sets. Twenty years ago, they would have had a problem as the slots for that band were much lower, and 40mhz was just starting out and horrendously expensive. Now they can just go straight onto the water. If you can still find them 27mhz FM would be a great system (as opposed to the cheaper 27AM system used by most companies), Futaba used to do a 27FM system, as did my favourite R/C company Fleet (RIP), which was the last British manufacturer of equipment. I still have my Fleet Omega 7- a set that was made to spec. not an accountants spread sheet; lovely old school true gimballed sticks, brushed aluminium case with a simple uncluttered look.
I've just been working on it, replacing the batteries, which were 14 years old, and no longer holding a full charge. I'm pleased to report it works beautifully with the latest synthesized RX's!:biggrin:Comment

OK! Guys! My head is spinning here. (I'm a klutz at this radio stuff)
What exactly do you want here?
Here are the options
6 ch radio about $100
8 ch radio about $190
36mhz
or 40 mhz
or both
I'll get a couple of each and some lucky winners will get one to try.
There! Will that stop all the whining?Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!Comment

Thanks for clarifying the frequency modules, Mike. At least I have two 36 MHz options for the WYFLY8 now - either a HiTEC synthesized module which would be great (if I can find one), or failing that trying to find a 36.170 MHz Tx crystal in whatever type the WYFLY8 takes in its default module as that's the frequency of all my subs. I've got JR & HiTEC Tx crystals in this frequency, but not Futaba - I suppose that gived me a 66% chance in getting it working!
Fortunately all my subs are crystal Rx's so they'll work fine, but it will be interesting to see if the bunch of original Corona RP8D1 synthesized Rx's I have also work with the WYFLY8. The new RP8D1 model synthesized Rx, which is easy to identify as it has an extra set of battery pins, seems to have improved firmware as the one of these I was sent recently works with an el-cheapo 36 MHz Venom Tx I have whereas the original RP8D1's don't.Last edited by Bradv; 07-01-2011, 08:12 AM.Brad

In Aus, we find 40MHz is much more crowded. This is due to 2 main reasons I'm aware of:
1. There's only 13 bands for 40 MHz compared to 30 bands for 36 MHz.
2. As high-end 40 MHz gear has been more easily accessible, especially for expandable sets like the Robbe F14 & F16 etc., there are quite a few people already utilizing it.
So with the exodus of model boating gents from the 36 MHz band to 2.4 GHz, this has opened the former up for us very nicely - assuming we can also obtain sets with a large number of channels for our subs, like the WYFLY8.Brad

Ah Ok. May be those 40Mhz boating guys will move on as well. As you mention there is much more choice available on 40Mhz. But I fear that this too may change in the coming year.
Gruapner/JR MX-16s (8 ch Synth Tx and Synth RX) on 40Mhz is just EUR150.Comment
