It appears that my electronic/motor mount is missing a section. So can I mount the RX and Lipo guard vertically on the aft bulkhead and place the BEC as shown in last picture?US Submarine Force: Making the Navy worthwhile since 1900Comment

I just got the Moebuis Skipjack model. I've never built an operating R/C sub before and as I read the the pdf instructions I feel that I am in over my head. I just want to make the boat do the basic functions, no diving and no torpedo firng, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Comment

This is the first one I am building. Just take your time. Read all M's instructions and reports, and also the many fine builder threads on the skipjack. Have fun and ask questionsUS Submarine Force: Making the Navy worthwhile since 1900Comment

Zip-cord (two conductor) power cable between battery and BEC, ESC, Lipo-Guard, and MPC. Spare pushrod seals, and the power cable strain-relief block that keeps you from tugging on the wires as you make/brake the plugs between battery and system.

I found the horizontal aluminum shelf to be redundant -- the devices are so small now. Mount them anywhere you wish. No biggie.

What David shows in the post above, is the simple water tight container that you can use to dive with or remain on the surface. There is not a ballast involved with it, Von Hilde built a Type 9 with the EZ driver.
Having the extra dimension of being able to dive is a huge thrill. I would encourage you to try it.
What area would you feel challenged in?If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.Comment

Well progress continues but slowed due to the holidays. For a Sonar Tech my soldering leaves a lot to be desired . But finally got everything hooked up. Hope nothing smokes when I hook it to a batt.US Submarine Force: Making the Navy worthwhile since 1900Comment

it there a guide to setting up a WFLY WFT08X and a leptron RX . The instructions for the transmitter (that came with it) talk about 2.4 GHZ operation and I have 72 Mhz. I followed M's wiring diagramto hook everything up. I thought I had come across a TX setup guide but can not seem to find it.
