I happened to be walking through the airport in Tokyo, way back in 1968, on my way back to
Cam Ranh Bay Airbase in Vietnam, from a 45-day TDY in Southern Korea, and they were
showing "Bonanza" on the terminal t.v. system!

Pretty funny stuff seeing Hoss move his lips and being dubbed in Japanese! Dang near "soiled" mahself
    laughing!!!

On our recent trip to Clearwater, my camera man and I, spent sometime with the Scamper. Since I was trying to impress my brother(showing off) I was doing some un-suggested maneuvers. At very high speed I put her into a hard turn to starboard. I should have learned from my previous experience but she made it thru about 3/4 of the turn and went straight to the bottom. DDDOOOOOOUGH! Well, I hit the gas ballast to bring it up when I suddenly remembered....................I had already done that a number of times before and that it was quite possible that I had exhausted the gas. DDDOOOOOOOUGH!!! Sure enough , it wasnt coming up. Not to be left out I still had the SAS that I had moved to another switch. I was probably between 10 and 15 ft. of water. So, I hit the SAS pump and held it and watched...........and watched. Finally ..........................THERE IT IS!!! Slowly, not in any hurry, she was coming up! In previous posts it had been mentioned that at depth the SAS would be somewhat limited due to the pressure of the greater depths. Well, its true that it was a slow trip to the surface, perhaps 45 sec. to a minute, but up she came.
LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU!!!............OH........yes well, If you have a gas ballast system, it doesnt do you any good to keep operating a boat that the gas has been or almost depleted. So, back to the shore she went and out onto the stand for an inspection of the Subdriver. You see I expected that the Subdrivers rear compartment would have some water in it due to the fact of the great depth of her last mission BooBoo. NOT ONE DROP could I find. NOT ONE DROP. Elated that I didnt have to leave Clearwater without the Scamper, I put her up along with the Oscar and headed home. This was the "After Action Report".Click image for larger version

Here is the first video that he took of her. It was going slow and easy. The following videos will be going faster and faster.

The second video. Going much faster now. If you look in some of the closeups as its driving by, you can clearly see the area of vacuum behind the scopes. Really cool.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zWY1...ature=youtu.be Once again I apologize for the poor Youtube quality.

Is that not the most fun drive you've had yet?

Are the sail planes hooked up yet?

Oh, theyve been hooked up all along, I just cant see any need, they dont do anything good. Its weird. Im thinking that the ADF fights against any affect that they might have. You can go full dive on the sail planes when they have a couple of inches of water on them and it will force it up.

Very nice! How about an on-the-bench video: Introduce yourself; show how the pre-missions are done; explain operation of the SD and linkages; show the at-site mission checks; back at the bench show the post-missions; and show off your shop along with current and past projects.

                          And, do it now!
