As you can see, they are very bright on 12 volts, but they are rated for 13 volts. At any rate they wont be so bright out in bright sunlight and also underwater. But they will give me points of reference when maneuvering underwater. If the sail rolls to starboard I will then see the red light on top and the white light(that was on top) on the side. Im also going to put one atop the rudder. Its in the works.

Here we go with the drilling out by hand, the light atop the rudder. I dont have access to a drill press at the moment, so out comes the drill index and a hand drill. It came out almost perfect. That "aint nothin but good clean livin"right there. This white LED is 3mm and unfortunately has a flange on the bottom of it. So I had to drill a hole large enough for the flange to allow for recessing the bulb because its too tall. As you can see, Ill have to put some filler in there to cover that up.Click image for larger version

In a few episodes previous to this I carved out some areas where the Evercoat and plastic were growing. After a month I revisited the hull and found more areas that have grown, almost like cancer. So, I carved out all of it. Starting fresh, I threw away all my old Evercoat and will order some fresh stuff tomorrow. Maybe that will skin this cat.

Yup! I had been doing similar hours 8am - 8pm doesn't leave much time for much else! Fortunately now that winter is here my hours have returned to a more regular 8am to 4.30-5pm leaving me with some time to do some building!! Hope you get your hull sorted mate!!

My Skippy comes out of drydock this week for a run in the big pool at Wagga Wagga, so weeknights this week will be spent prepping her for the weekend.....

              Cheers Bruce

Edit your post, then it looks like you can select the size of your photos.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I did that already. I selected Large and then full size. They still come out this size. Daves got it figured out though.

The spot putty that I was using is the Bondo brand ,single part red putty. I noticed than in a few spots it was eating the old paint. Then I looked on the label and saw that it contained Xylene, toluene and some other very nasty sounding chemicals. I then acquired some Bondo, two part professional spot putty. It didnt have all those solvents in it. It has worked much better too. Today I pretty much finished the sanding and filling to my satisfaction. Now I need to put some thin CA on the hull seem that indicates the water line so that tommorrow I can cut in the new line. Then I gotta wet sand the whole upper hull, to accept paint. We r getting thar. Hold on to ya tatters.
