love to but can't..my ocd is showing..i will figure this out.. how about length and weight...ppppllllleeeeeeaaassseeee(with groveling and begging and a cherry non top)....for 1 lancher...i will figure out the rest....it's just got to have working tube doors evan if i cant hook to a servo for now.i can make a mecanical latch to hold it open..for those blessed torp launchers deserve it......
If I were to have the shutters operational on mine what I plan to do is integrate the opening mechanism with the torpedo launcher. Imagine the shutter doors as a bow. A piece a string connects the free ends together. A control rod with a small bend at the hooks on to the string. This rod is connected to the torpedo launcher breech block. During firing, as the block retracts it pulls the door opens. The trick here is ensuring the shutter doors are fully opened before the torpedo fires. Maybe a wheel collar soldered on to the block so you could adjust the timing.
ok still here.. have a few questions again.so still working on a door set up but did pick up another hull so i can build one with doors shut and learn to drive..
so have made a little progress.. after 3 attempts at dyfitting it in sucsess.. now to get some minideans connecters...although dave2 things i gotta tell you
#1 pictures don't do the space you work in justice..you sir are an frieaken magicman..it's one thing to think you can do something, another to do it...there were 6 overall attempts at peiceing it together.3 changes in progress.one due to the amount the crystal sticks up so i had to bore a slot for it in the tray and flip it over..found out the hard way.although the lepton6 is the perfect size to go between the lpb and the tray, well you already know why it won't work so i won't waste your time....but it's in
#2maybe incorperating a slot in the receiver tray of the seaview/vIIc s/d to acomodate the lepton 6
so now i need to dig up the esc paperwork and review it and see about the stuttering...worried i might need the bec and will have no channel.. we will see...i know this is all a little blahze to most of you vets but i feel like i am progressing in the dark art of subs.. thanks to all for your advise and support,,,shane
Good work, Shane. You got ten-pounds of **** into a five-found bag!
I'm not a magician, I'm a task-master -- I'm the ass-hole who supplied that above mentioned five-pound bag and left it to you poor customers to cram in that ten-pounds of devices.
I will take your recommendations under advisement (UN-speak meaning, 'yeah, right, I'll get to it').
well i have a little practice the dealership i work at is 15 lbs with a 5lb bag for parking and working.. and as far as the under advisement for the slot thats ok,i'm not shure if i have the crystal is fully seated.i gave it a light push till it started to feel bendy then stopped.. most other receivers i have delt with the crystal sit flush with the receiver.. but just a thought for those who will go for the lepton 6 while $ isn't totaly an issue(the wife stated get the 6ch set up 1st incase it sinks ggaaaaacckkkk.yes she doub'ts the whole concept of r/c sub's but is tolerant of my hobbies due to the fact i bankroll the scrapbooking(confetti makeing, expensive confetti at that) and if i pull the u-820 off she will ok another boat and a 8 ch or more...yay been drooling about a XXI
The crystal holder on the Lepton-6 is indeed too tight. I shave the leads of the crystal with an X-acto knife till the crystal sits flush. You're wise to stop before things been too far out of shape.
so after several detours both on the sub and home/work we have had some progress..starting to put the weights/foam/subdriver together.just epoxyed the velco strap into the hull.then the index lug..does anyone think i need bigger foam for the saddle tanks?i know i have a few more questions but i will post later..i'm useing devcon epoxy hope it will last......havent quit yet god just been working on the deck i know that many have said lots of small holes might affect diveing but i think it will be fine as i did the tower floor too.. yes god i am that anal....and that took way more time to drill it out than i thought... thanks shane
