    Jorg,

I always use a grubscrew on my props, making a flat surface on the shaft will enhance the grip of the grubscrew, to complete things you can use a end piece to cover up the shaft, using just a counternut behind the prop is asking for problems.
As a extra measure you can also use a amount of loctite on the crubscrew to secure the grubscrew better.

The walk of shame, the V60 had to be safed by a target, the driveshaft came loose, there was too much play inside the coupler from the SD to the driveshaft under load

Besides the driveshaft i have to fix some other things, the keel needs some magnets, it was not that tight fastened as i wanted, have to retrim the boat, it needs to be lower underwater when the ballasttank is filled up and have to add a bushing in the coupler which connects the snorkel in the upper structure, a few times i pushed the lipseal down into the connectiontube.
It all has to be done before the next meeting end of this month, so back to the cave.

        Manfred.

First issue on the bench, that keel component was a bit loose, i discovered this in germany, probaly due to the warm weather during those days, added some magnets in the rear as wel at the front, this way it will be better connected, the pulling force will not be that great, so keeping it at it's place is good enough.

Second problem that occured, made a tube from resin stock, this way i won't press the lipseal down into the copper tube, kept the hole inside the resin tube big enough to insert the snorkel tube.

Placed the resin tube loose inside the copper tube, left some room on top to add the lipseal.

Pressed in the lipseal, by adding the resin tube it will stay at this position.

Last issue, added some teflon rings on the shaft, there was too much play on the shaft, lateral forces pushed it away from the driveshaft of the SD disconnecting the coupler, left just enough play for a smooth running shaft, using the teflon rings gave me the oppertunity to get this right.
