Das Werk SM U9 - WTC fit

Watching DrSchmidt's build come together is inspirational.

My wife got me that kit when it came out. My college age daughter has gotten into plastic models, and this is now something we we she visits over school breaks. She likes modern fighters. We had been working on a model of her grandfathers AU-1 Corsair, but I need to do some more paint work , so now I have the static U9 building. She has lots of questions, and wanted the tour of the U505 down in Chicago on this trip.

I also spent some time with measurements and such on the Das Werk kit. Since there have been questions on the kit and an RC modified version I'll put these out. There is room to put in a WTC. A 50 mm x 300 mm WTC just fits. These are photos with my RC build hull.

A question will be the forward planes. Two servo setup. Leave the forward planes fixed? Link to the stern planes? The stern planes are rather high on the hull, so I have concern on the stern plane only operation.

    Thoughts?

Bow planes and stern planes work independent of each other -- never the two shall meet!

Unless you're playing with a Thunder Tiger Neptune, or similar!
