Love the bow on shot with the narrow depth of field. Excellent!
Thanks guys! That is probably my favorite too. Just an iPhone X underwater. It got set to portrait mode, which tends to make everything look awesome. I’ll see if maybe I can get some video here sometime soon ish.
Also, the careful observer may notice that once upon a time, CARTER had a fully-manned bridge crew, complete with grossly overscale stanchions and a little tiny set of flags. Now she has a "slick" sail that's rigged for patrol. Well, the story behind that involves a high speed pass under a floating boat dock back in early May. She bumped the underside of the styrofoam float at a flank bell. Sadly, the command staff and the crew manning the flying bridge were no match for that kind of an impact.

Reason: Story Time
Funny you mention that! I’ve had my eye on that piece for a long time, and actually went down that route - albeit a bit differently... behold my interpretation of the the ASDS MK II:
Based on a 1/600 shapeways model of the CONFORM submarine design that preceded (and lost out to) the 688. Damn near fits the bill in 1/144. I went as far as trying to mount a magnet inside of it and a corresponding one under the deck of CARTER, but I just wasn’t happy with how it was working out. Maybe I’ll keep tinkering with it, who knows. We’ll just have to see! I’m always open to input, even when it’s just David yelling at me to quit being a bum.
Ok David, I caved and installed the snorkel induction assembly you fabricated, finally replacing my original design. So, my question for the benefit of the group - why does yours work when mine still lets a bit of water in?
I want my design to work. I really do. But I also want the SD to stay dry.... Do I just need to do a better job lapping the nipple? Is there not enough float? Was I maybe allowing too much travel between extremes on the position of the float?
