Actually it was an enjoyable afternoon in the SHED - not the she; although, now that I come to think of it......

The sail dishing, excellent inlayed detailing, railing, and good part break-down. What can I say, but excellent work on display here.

Thanks Mate. That means a lot. It takes me a while to get it right and there is lots of refinishing. If I had my **** in one sock I would do all the hard stuff at the early stages and make it perfect before making the moulds, but I don't have enough experience to do that yet. For now it has to be the pigs ear, which may or may not turn out to be the silk purse. I'll send you one of these things if you're game - ie., if you've gotten over the horror of the Romeo.Comment

Its a deal. I'll get over to the shed in a minuter and start slinging glass. The total weight of the above water bits is 5.25 Oz. If we add a 20% margin for safety that comes to 6.3 Oz of boyancy needed. This is a test fit of the 2.5 SD from my Alfa:
There is plenty of room to make the SD longer if necessary.Comment

Well, actually ....
.... Normal practice is to leave the high pressure air-banks alone. The boat is planed up to broach the sail (where the main induction valve is); the air induction valve opened and the tanks are pressurized with the low pressure blower to get the water out. Gas is used to squirt some air into bow-buoyancy (old school), emergency blow, or just to get the boats main induction high in rough seas.
