Hi Mate. Good to see you back here. The props are awsome. They appear to be CnC cut from a single block of brass. They are made by RC Subworks in HK. I was looking for a five bladed prop with the vortex disrupter on the back for the Delta when I came upon this photograph:


So I thought, why not?

Meanwhile back in the shed; I have fitted the control horns and rods for the rear planes and rudder.



Fitted the prop shafts;


Completed the 'Z' cut;


And added the flanges to each side of the lower hull.



It still looks very rough but I'm confident that it will scrub up OK.

Spent this afternoon mating the top to the bottom. There is a flange along the rim of the bottom hull that positions the upper part. All seems to fit quite well so far. There are a few areas needing a bit of filler and sanding into shape.


I also fitted the stern planes.

The hull gap is much better now and I have fitted the anchor and rescribed the forward torpedo outer doors.

The hull is mostly finished - with the exception of the railings and antennas.







I'm moving on to the main hatch, emergency buoys and railing next.

Beautiful! How did you add the White lines? Is it decal or just masking and a steady hand?

Its dry transfer stuff. Comes out a bit broken and looking like flaking paint.

An enjoyable afternoon in the she making railings.



This might look primitive but I have to tell you that I have messed up more than enough bits of brass over the last few years to know that you have to have a jig to make this work. In my case the jig is a bit of board with the appropriate lines marked off and some speed tape. Measure off, cut, lay out, tape in place, blast with soldering iron. A small point; I have found that the best results come from using lots of flux and not much solder. Use the iron to heat the larger piece of metal and the solder will happily flow onto the smaller peice of metal - don't do it the other way around!

Once its all primed and the holes have been drilled in the sail, it looks like this.
