This is awesome work, with five kits/kit bashed subs behind me I would love to be able to do this and go from scratch.

Surprised you didn't print the periscope support at the same time as the fin/sail.

I came across this picture of a door in the sail of a DELTA.....that will add a nice detail to the V3 was my reaction.

I gave it a try and added a framework to the door, I actually tried to do it with all the hatches but that failed......the door turned out ok.......looks like a Belgian waffle

With all the cavities that would not work Andy....the resin will stay in there, inpossible to get it out.........in addition the printbed was already full with one part of the sail.

All the gratings and hatches in the sail are done.......test fitted all, there are 37 pc of them.

They follow perfectly the double curvature of the sail, that was my intention.

In addition, on the real sub the sail is provided with cameras and sensors protected by polycarbonate, those pieces (blue arrows in pic) I want to cast in clear resin to simulate this, think this will be a nice detail.

On the SB side of the sail the hatches and gratings are glued in place and to let them pop out I scribed the contours. And yes on the real sub the gratings also do not aline at the bottom.

I spent quite some time in developing the mast outfittings (I don’t know all their specific names)…………then spent equal amount of time in trying to print them......I guess today the position of the sun and moon were perfectly because I managed to print them....I’m pretty happy with the amount of detail, even the bolt heads are visible, crazy stuff……here are the pictures of the raw pieces, supports are still present…….yeah I have to remove them without braking anything, wish me luck.

                          Enjoy the pictures
                          Grtz,
