I have a feeling the builder may post on this forum-

Lots of interesting stuff over there, if you don't speak French, use the google translator.

No, Bernard (the modeler that makes this triomphant) it's a charming old man, but he not post on french submarine forums (scalesub, forumsousmarin, modelisme.com) ;)

        Hi Guys
For torpedoes, the battery is a micro lipo folded in three to enter in the tube. There are also smaller than 3.7 Volt Lipo batteries and 100 mA weighing 2 grams !
Programming is done with a microprocessor for running time and it's a IR phototransistor that manages the start and stop the engine when the programmed time is over.
The black tube in which the torpedo is used to protect the torpedo light when it is programmed.

Folded Lipo? I thought bending Lipo batteries was a bad idea, how does he get away with that?

This could power a 1/72 scale torpedo, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AAAA_battery
Make it simple, make strong, make it work!

1/72 torpedo is a lot smaller in diameter. I like your thinking!

Laurent, Thank you for getting that information! Merci beaucoup!

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
