I acquired this 6ch 2.4ghz set from a local hobbyshop ( owner was giving it away due to range problems, unfit for aircraft use) Click image for larger version

Did some prelimenary searches, it's called IPX conector

Any tips on what specific cable/ attachment I need to purchase extend the antennae?

Romel, Google IPX connector-there are a lot of choices...different diameter sizes but also try to find pre-wired. I see them in 150cm lengths...if that would work for you it would save you from any micro soldering. (of course the end without connector gets stripped and becomes the antenna.)
