Much belated for sure but the day of testing has arrived. Saturday, me and my brother, with camera in hand set out for Clearwater to a lake that I use for model boats mostly. Its bigger than the other pond that I use for subs, but its not as clear. At any rate here we go with some testing pictures and some videos. It all went well. The ducted fan install worked well. It provides a boost when moving in tall grass as well as providing a speed boost out on the water. Also, if your boat dies out on the water , you can engage the fan motor and continue your maneuvers or just bring it back in.
It could still use more power. Heres a link to a motor that Im looking at putting on her......maybe.

            Now for the videos.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uXOamMcKZs
At a small lake in Clearwater, Florida, these videos were taken. Using both the airplane engine and the duct-ed fan, seperately and in concert

If your main engine dies you can use the ducted fan to get back to shore. As seen in the other videos it also gives you a nice boost when the main engine is ...

a 95 on a shingle? Why bother with a hull. Put it on a set of hydrofoils with a sprint car wing on top. It wants to fly, so leter go!

Naw, no fun, Ive done that. Because of the shape of the bottom of the hull(a tunnel)there is a lot of drag when moving on the ground, its designed for the water. So, if you want a BOAT, that moves on the land....youve got to have an excess of power, thus the .95 engine and 4 bladed prop and ducted fan................HUMOR ME!

Just pullin your chain. My Dad built a couple "Shingles" for my brother and me when we we kids. Mine was a10 ft with a 25 Merc his was an 8 footer with a 10hp we raced on the Patomac in DC in the late 50s. My boat did almost 50mph. No seat. just knee pads and two toe holds for your feet. Your power boat bug is starting to bite me. I was looking at a 44" cat yesterday. The guys wife had it for sale and only wanted $350 for boat, radio, PVC rack that fits, the space in the pickup where you would put a tool box in the bed, plus tools electric start, fuel...My wife made the mistake of showing me the pictures on the yard sale page. She asked me where I would get the 350. I just pointed to the calander at my birthday. Im perplexed, should I just go get it. before some other yahoo dude snatches it up. Or just hope the birthday fairy will handel the deal. I know for a fact she called the lady, because I mentioned it was awful cheap for all that stuff. She said the lady was getting a divorce, and there was no mention in the ad about divorce.

Yeah, the Dude is probably going to be ticked off that she sold his boat. Forced out of the house by the Cops....then she is free to "Dispose" of his property while hes trying to figure out what to do. By the time they get before a Judge......Its all over and there is nothing that can be done........Especially if its a Woman Judge.
