ID:	98748 One of the things I like about this motor is that the needle valve is angled back for Safety reasons. Thats kinda different to what Im used to. Ive never lost a digit to a prop before but I did get wacked by a .049 on the finger, at full song before. I had to go sit down for a bit.

ID:	98755 This last picture is of the remote glow plug battery mount. If you leave the glow charger hooked up to your airplane engine you can run reliably at much lower speeds. You know, like when you want to putt putt through the lilly pads or tip toe thru the tulips. Or you can take it off after you start up.
Anyone know of a good cleaner for aluminum? Glow engines get so dirty. Castor oil sticks real good and turns dark.

Today I test ran the motor and glow driver mount. The smoke is from running the engine rich during break in. Im going to reconfigure the fuel tank setup to give more capacity for the available space. I was absolutely amazed on starting this engine. Its the first brand new engine that I ever had that started INSTANTLY! The split second that the prop turned, it fired.Click image for larger version

How about this for a motor?
The Saito brand continues to expand their radial engine line with the addition of the FA-120 3-cylinder radial.

I just bought one of these. Its a Saito 3 cylinder ,4 cycle nitro motor. It turns a 16" 3 bladed prop. New it costs $1500. No I didnt pay that much for it. Whadayathink Im Nuts or Something!! No I got mine off of Ebay. Im going to install it on a future Airboat. Thought you might appreciate it.

OK here it is! I had to build an engine stand to hold it and allow me to operate it. The stand is radio controlled so that from the transmitter I can control the throttle. Also I can light all three glow plugs at the same time without using three seperate glow ignitors. Ill probably start it up for the first time tomorrow. Its brand new and never been started. Since its been in storage for quite a few years it requires special attention for the setup for the first run. I had to buy a airplane propellor balancer and learn how to use it. A three bladed prop can be tricky to balance. I was not aware that airplane propellers did not come pre balanced. I also bought a 120 single cylinder 4 cycle air motor as well. The brand new prop was so out of balance it almost shook the table and everything else loose. After I got the prop balanced it purred like a kitten.

Hi, I’ve been doing some searching on information on airboats and found your posting and boy does this take me back to some great times I had with my brother, I really enjoyed this article! Anyway I thought I would contact you and you could possibly give me some tips and advice from your experience. I I’ve been looking into finding a large airboat kit and besides the big swamp buggy there are none that I can find. The people that made large boats seam to no longer exist. So I found your article and saw that you installed a large engine on your boat and it got me very interested. I was thinking if I got a big swamp buggy kit and maybe widened and lengthen it a little I could run a larger engine but from what I can see you did that looks like it won’t be necessary. I have a Enya 1.20 4 stroke and it weighs 2 lbs, I looked up the weight of the Magnum 91 4 stroke you used and it weighs 1.4 lbs, do you think the boat would be top heavy with the Enya 120, your input would be appreciated, thanks!
