48 ft Golden Egg Harbor Sport Fisherman

This build started in 1975 and originally had two OS glow engines with two F-N-R gear boxes-as the years rolled by, I always wanted a pull cord, drop in the water weed whacker boat. A few years back I garbage -picked a motor...

The model is of the brochure boat for Egg Harbor in 1972. I drew up plans from many photos and measurements of the full size boat in the marina. It has a redmax weed eater motor which I converted to water cooling (very hard to do because the spark plug is angled) and the output goes through a gearbox and on to two prop shafts(also homemade). The pilot station has a working compass (fabricated from a cut light bulb) The only items purchased were the props and the radio gear

    Love the attention to details.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
