I have no idea what I am doin

Hey guys! I am new here and wanting to build a sub. I plan on starting to 3D print this one over the weekend as my first sub:https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game...ILiv08tn9fQVtV

I have lot's of questions the more I get into this.

Is there a list of equipment I will need to get for this build? An instruction manual? I see the books on building the subs in general, I'm just worried I'm going to glue this together only to later fid out I should have added a rod I wasn't aware of.

Also, I'm sure it gets asked a lot, but what size WTC will I need and where the heck can I find one? I'm located in the US and ordering from over seas is going to get difficult for us. Is there a guide on building one from scratch?

Any help would be appreciated, I will continue to watch videos and read to learn.

    Happy sailing

    If I May!

I built the Gotland, and looking at the one you have picked out on Cults the files are set up for a slid in type WTC. Speaking as a novice at this hobby I would pick out a submarine that has a hull with a top section and bottom section. This makes the WTC easier for installation. Also, I would stay away from the X-tail design for your first submarine build the aft section control surface build is complicated, and frustrating.

Now that I have discouraged you! You might look at something similar to a Skipjack for your first out of the sub pen for your first build. Take it from me the less complication for your first boat the more likely you will stay with the hobby.

Good luck to you, and remember for sure you will get lots of great help from some really great builders right here from Nautilus Drydocks forum...

At full scale the publisher suggests a 75MM Subdriver. Currently I do not believe you can find one in the U.S. I recommend

Where are you located? There may be someone or even a group close by. If you are near Georgia or Tennessee, you should check this out: https://www.rc-submarine.com/copy-of-subfest-2023
This event will give you a real head-start on a boat, you'll be able to ask more questions and see more submarine solutions in a couple of days then you will in a year of forums and videos. That said the forums and videos in this hobby are excellent!

Thank you for the advice. I was looking at the skipjack, but chose the Gotland only because the files were free. Maybe I'll just buy the file.

Is there a parts list of instruction pdf on either one?

Is there a guide anywhere on building my own WTC? I saw the print said to use sewer pipe PVC as the dry hull and ballast tank and would be willing to try to build one from scratch if all the pieces are obtainable.

We hide and skulk in the dim corners of the interweb. Possibly someone in Florida with more knowledge will pipe up. You are not far from the SubFest event. Some of us are coming from Washington, California, Texas, and all up and down the East Coast. It's that good!

You could forego the RCABS and just make it a dynamic diver.

I like that little one, thanks! Know of any more free ones out there?

My 3D printer ran into a clog and I'm waiting for the needle tool to come to see if I can unclog it or if I should just throw a new nozzle on.
