Making internal bulkheads or WTC support

    David,
Any technique you can share on how to make internal bulkheads or WTC supports for old style boats like the Type XXIII with it's inverted figure 8 hull. Specially if one does not have a contour gauge.
Make it simple, make strong, make it work!

Perfect for making a cradle when transporting your sub from the house to the pond and vice versa but my question is how to copy the "internal" contours of the hull so as to make an internal bulkhead or support cradle for the wtc.

You loft the measurements off the model. Look it up. There's this new thing out there... called the Internet.

Are you EVER going to make practical use of the answers you so constantly seek?

You could fill a hull half with plaster/ silicon/ whatever and cut that to slices. You could cut pieces of papercard to proper shape until they fit and use those as a template. You bend a wire to match the outer contour, draw that minus the hull thickness.

What exactly do you want to build?

You try and try again until you are done.

Grab a set of my universal bulkheads. They have "legs" that you simply trim to fit.

As you mentioned your fittings kit are as rare as teeth on a chicken.

Other that spouting witticisms, what the **** good did Confucius or all the other big-mouth, do-nothing, naval-gazing, religious icons, and cultists build other than fantasy castles in the sky?

A brain that's connected to operable hands that don't work is a waste of flesh! An embarrassment to the human race.

                Do. Or do not!

                Do!

Why not using a self-made solution instead?

It is more fun to come up with an own working solution.

“The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life” There is nothing wrong with the statement itself, but we have to understand the context of the story. Confucius asked his 3,000 disciples to think hard when they studied, and if they didn't think, they were learning in vain. But is it enough just to think? Of course not. I am afraid I have to state another fact. Confucius and his many disciples applied what they learned to govern the country, which is the process of putting theory into practice, not just thinking without doing.
