They could just be temporary support beams for the platform on the rear deck.

Does anyone have photos of the helicopter-style "landing skids" Seawolf used when parked on the seabed?

OK then, I SPY the Harder of the Tang class. If the protrusions on the Seawolf were to support a fake DSRV then what are these? Looks like they were experimenting with additional control surfaces.Click image for larger version

I guess it is the winch for the towed array sonar.

OK guys, youve failed miserably on this picture in the past but its such a fantastic picture(although small) that I want to post it again, so here goes. I SPY something unusual. What is it?

Well. We all agree that's a type XXI bow lower part. What's the unusual thing? The square coaming or what seems to be a different material in the front part of the sonar dome?

                        No we don't! It's a GUPPY.

                          BQR-2B sonar transducers "chin" dome?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I believe that it is a Guppy, just like the Trutta, hey Dave. What I found interesting was how the chin dome is constructed. Looks like it comes apart down the centerline. The Port side is missing.

Excuses. Yes, looks like it's fitted asimetrically. In former S-31, an Spanish Navy GUPPY, they mounted a sonar on port side of the deck, inside a box shaped container during the seventies. Let's see if a I can find that picture.

Please, excuse me (now correctly said). In my former post the "excuses" may be misunderstood, and nothing far from me that being bad-mannered. I wanted to say "Excuse me".
