I've inelegantly patched Mike's post, but now I've got to figure out what kind of sub it is...

OK, here's my guess... Modified British S class. (Would Mike post anything else?) Looks like HMS Seraph, after conversion to a high speed target. See this interesting web page for a photo:

And what's going on here? It looks like they are using a dinghy as a platform to do some work on the superstructure. What are those great big L Shaped protrusions? Maybe the supports for a new 'slippery' superstructure?

According to the website I quoted earlier, S62 was HMS Solent, which was used as a dockside trainer in Scotland, eventually going somewhat derelict as seen in the photo. Those L brackets probably were part of the "welded to the pier" humiliation...

Well, of course I saw it... I've been looking at the animated version you've been using for a while. I also noticed this little bit of text at the end of the website's entry on Sibyl: "The pictures here were kindly sent to me by Mike Caswell."

On a side note...look at all the rivets on the sail. Must've been very labor intensive to build the sub.

HA HA! LOL, That one went right over my head! I got it now. The witch and cat and torpedo on the sub are the same as Kazzers Avatar. Cool! By the way, excuse me for asking but what is the meaning of the word Kazzer? Inquiring minds you know.
