This is the completed upper mold. Silicon inner and rigid fiberglass outer. The next step is to gloop it to form the lower silicon mold. We gloop it here, we gloop it there, we gloop it everywhere (to make sure that its really thick so that it doesn't tear when in useClick image for larger version

Rough and ready Mate. Its all a bit imprecise I'm afraid but probably at the limits of my talents right now.

Its epoxy resin with chopped strand, then two layers of medium weight cloth.

Looking at the bow of the last picture, it looks like a cloth is used, is it? Did you pour something in the squares of the frame?

This is the upper mold. I'm using DavidH's bracing method. Should be super rigid.

Onward with the gloop monster. This is pre-thickened silicon molding rubber - and its just a bit too runny, hence the play dough dam around the Piranha. Once this goes off I'll give it a second coat to ensure that the rubber is nice and thick.

Here's some shots of acid-etched work used as in-lay work on the defunct FOXTROT project. The acid-etching done by Joel Stadnick, with me inlaying his work into the hull and sail production masters.

Moving on to your sub, it came out really nice. The hatches and storage on the deck, are you planning to put inserts in there or brass etchings? I guess I am asking, what are your plans to finish the deck?
