I grew up along Lock 2 and 1. GE were polluters in that area then. I think they started to clean it up.

I went back in 2010 and did the Buffalo-Albany Erie Canal bicycle ride that they have every year. There were a few parts of it that looked like it just might have the weed animate and drag your raft under. :)

One day along the ride, we got on a recreated passenger barge pulled by horses (not mules). For some time after, I dreamed about building an RC barge (have to have prop, unless I could excavate a tow path and mechanize small mules).

    Apologies if I went OT.

This shows my first attempt at making a canopy. I was very unhappy with it for two reasons:
      1. it looked scruffy
      2. The engine steering handle hit the aft canopy post so I couldn't steer on a hard turn.

So I took it apart and designed an over hanging canopy which allowed the tarp to wrap around the edge, and removed the end posts.

Here you can see there is a railing handle. Note the box which holds the battery and things like flag, flares and tools.

Great looking raft, Mike! You need a narrowboat to go along with it.
