That's wonderful. Leave it to European hobbyists to think of and apply first. lol. Interesting how the dock walls present a large enough target for the 'collision avoidance sonar' to register & work,
Observed it still could bump against the larger tug though. That's fine. Not to dimmish, it just shows the degree of sensitivity. The larger tug doesn't have the hull draft in the water that the pier does.
Also, the boat is tiny so the device must be tiny in size too, that's good in a submarine always.
The little device in the tug sensitivity would have to allow a larger submarine more time & distance away to react to the helm earlier. Or apply reverse on the prop.
Could the software be reversed, so the electronics steers the sub toward an object instead or avoiding?Last edited by Albacore 569; 03-11-2026, 10:45 AM.Comment

I've had my pool robot now for about 4 years and it's been utterly bulletproof. I am actually just waiting for it to die so I can take it apart and see how they handle the motors. The poor robot has been abused by us a lot, left in about 7ft of water for days (and up to a week) at a time. It's still working as perfectly now as it did on day one.Comment
