XT60 Connectors difficult to plug and unplug

Any tricks? I was going to use dielectric grease, but read it does not conduct electricity

You can try sanding the vertical surfaces of the female plug a little bit.

My Dad used to have problems with these and Deans plugs as his grip wasn't as good as he got older. He used to bond on bits of leather to bulk out the connector and give his fingers something a bit more to grip on. If you have a printer there are things like this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5332396

Also this which looks like a partial copy of the Turnigy easyoff item https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1721130

Not sure how well the pliers will hold up in use though.

Thanks, will print them out and try! Also was reading that there are different quality XT60's, not sure how to find top quality ones?

Not hand any issues. I only have a few though, mostly I use Deans and JST's for small stuff, I know some don't like them, but I've always found them fine.

When you are soldering an XT60 connector, have it plugged in to another (unconnected) connector of the opposite type. This helps it keeps its shape while it gets hot.

So, I figured it out. I use Spectrum Smart Lipos so discharging is automatic. The batteries have IC connectors.

Bear in mind that depending on where you got them, they may not be "brand name" XT-60s. There are cheap, nasty versions out there with sloppy tolerances. Proper connectors should be very easy to make up and break apart.

Anderson Power Poles are an alternative you might think of. They’re easy to connect and disconnect You have to have a special crimper, but once you have it, you’ll always use it. But like Bob said, if you’re going to get the ones you’re looking at, get name brand. The ones on Amazon are garbage.
