    32nd Parallel Catalog Scan - Circa 1988

We were lucky enough to have had an original color copy of the 32nd Parallel Catalog from 1988 brought to SUBFEST this year. I took some photos and created a PDF document from them. It's fun to look back and see the excellent work that Simon and Sheila did back then.

Here is the link on my Google Drive.

Wow, that brings back memories! I poured over their catalogs!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Oh, me too! I wore the printing off the cover IIRC. Wound up ordering the Type 23 but never finished it.

I went to a hobby shop in SoCal and they convinced me to get the Darnell Type VII instead of the 32nd. I wish I never followed their advice. just to think this was 4 decades ago makes me feel VERY old.

First boat I ever built. The Type XXIII. Good build. Horrible leaking box.

Of the approximately 40,000 men who served on U-boats in WWII, it is estimated that around 28,000 to 30,000 lost their lives.

Seems Simon and Sheila vanished from the face of the Earth.

                You still have it?

I still have a hard copy somewhere in my files. Loved the cover with the Type VIIc underwater on the back.

No, sorry, I sold it some time ago. The new owner finished it so he had something "small" to run when he didn't want to haul out the 32 Parallel Fleet Boat.

I seem to recall news of them both passing years ago. I could be wrong, but I think one of them had developed cancer. The news was put out in the SCR shortly after.

Did the 32nd Parallel boat utilize a dry hull? Click image for larger version Name:	Screenshot_20230922_105855_Chrome.jpg Views:	0 Size:	59.5 KB ID:	174189

It had a container with a lid that housed the motor and electronics. The rest was wet.
