Anyone Have A Fittings Kit For A Bronco XXIII?

I know. We had this discussion back then and you showed these pictures and I tried. Built a jig for the dremel and tried the cut. Still couldn't pull it off: The plastic hull would bend ever so slightly and the result would be a non straight cut. I tried several times, that's how I ruined a bunch of Bronco kit hulls, but none would cut nicely. Even when the cut was ok-ish, I would end up with too much material lost between the halves to have a nice closure. In addition the two halves are too thin to sit nicely on top of each other.
Your photos make it look so easy, but I know different. It looks so easy because you are a master at what you are doing. Not because it is actually easy.Comment

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.👍 2Comment

The Type XXII is my next 3D Print Project. I have contacted Danny Engelhardt with Maximus. He has the fittings. I will update his response when/if I hear from him as to wether he will sell the files or fittings to us. If I design them myself I will share them. I wish Randy Sanders would design Type XXIII STL's thru Bob.

While I said that I would never build a plastic conversion again, I have to admit that in my closet I still have the Lindberg IJN I-53 model kit and I do want to build that one day. I'm hoping in that case that a cut of the hull won't be necessary and that I can use the "natural" deck line as a removable top akin it is done with the Revell Type VII boat. Not to hijack the discussion here. Maybe somebody else will do the same thing and share some build progress on here?Comment
