Thanks, I am almost ready to start cutting my foam block, still cleaning up the drawing.

I'd look carefully at the venues you have available for sailing, as a draft of 28" will limit your ability to dive in shallower ponds. Also bear in mind the weight of this thing when full of water, as it's likely to have a low freeboard. I would seriously advise making it smaller, as the boat is chunky and can support a smaller footprint.

Okay, so that video didn’t help! I just got off the phone with the owner of FX Models, still waiting for a fiberglass guy to make a hull with his molds. But, it is “hope”! I am definitely back on the hunt for an Alvin hull. I have been studying that sub since I was A kid. Not giving up on the dream to have one!Comment

Purchased the STl files for Alvin from The Nautilus Drydock, time to start the 3D printing. It is sold in 1/12, so to keep the math simple mine will be 1/6 when complete. Plan is to print it low quality to use as a rough mold for a fiberglass hull. Finally getting somewhere.
Sub cost so far $70…Comment

......it used to take a lot more time before 3D printing......all the heavy lifting was done by the person who made the 3D model........we are lucky to see all this stuff happening.
Don't know the nozzle diameter you are using....but when you print low quality/bigger layer height....a 0.6 or 0.8mm nozzle will reduce print times significaly.Practical wisdom is only to be learned in the school of experience.
