That type IX sure is in good shape for being underwater over 60 years. Which one is it?

you know I would find a few things about the CAD pics. First thing I noticed, there are no air intakes on top of the ducting or thru the sides of the tower. Those big MAN diesels sucked alot of air. There is no top rung on the ladder on the side of the tower. No railing forward of the tower starbord and port running lites. No lite aft of the wintergarden. Perriscopes are to fat, especially the Obs scope. The wood slats are too long and go all the way to the deck. Not many steps for the lookouts on the bridge. Nice job weathering the balast tanks, but the rest of the boat is clean. All in all they are pritty good drawings. Are they by Stefan Draminski?

CAD Drawings. They look good. Can anyone see anything out of place or out of proportion?

I think the Vessiko is a beautiful represintation of the type II. It looks like they should have to do some corrosion control soon. The pictures I have of her were taken several years ago, shortly after restoration. I used the pictures building the hull for my type II, but I didnt use the limber hole arrangement, tower or the deck, because mine is IIA, most likely will be U3 or 7 or 9. Not sure quite yet.

I only have a couple for today. I included a couple of the Visekko because it is in design, the first German Uboat of WW2.Click image for larger version

    Von Hilde,

I think the sepia colour look came from my camera settings, i had to take pictures from pictures, i agree it gives a pretty wartime look, that modelpicture is not my type VII, i own a type VIIC instead of a B type, mine is also equipped with the complete array of flakguns and extended Wintergarden.

Manfred, I like the way the zwitone pictures of 995 make them look like they were taken during the war years. The picture of the model u 552 with the bicycle almost looks real. Is that your model?

All those pictures are from my private collection and made in the early 80's, at this stage they didn't messed up the boat that much due to 'restaurations efforts'.
