If you will notice the three pictures of the Oscars bow tubes. If you look closely, especially to the sixth picture, you can just make out the outer door hinge pivot mechanism.Last edited by greenman407; 10-02-2012, 09:47 AM.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment

That version was proposed but as far as I know, never built.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment

Ok have decided as most of the pics I post are of Russian subs then here would be the logical place to do so.
Oscar out of the water, under going refit.
A good atmospheric shot of an Akula.
Not mine but this a pic of the Foxtrot in the River Medway in Kent SE England, this is about 1 1/2 mile from my house.

Peter, can you get on board that Foxtrot or at least to get close enough to get some detailed pictures?IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment

Mark,This Sub used to be moored in Folkestone harbour near Dover as an attraction named U475 Black Widow. I went on it about 12 years ago, the then owners had stripped out the aft section, engines etc and used it for functions. The rest of the sub was a museum. About 9/10 years ago it wad moved to where it is now where to be honest it has languished, a few rumours about what is happening to it do not seem to have bourne fruit, I believe one of them was to tow it to Gibraltar !?! It now looks rather rusty and I do not think all the time it has been there that I have seen anyone work on it so it must be rotting it also has that list seen, to starboard, permanently so I am wondering if she has sprung a leak. On the picture front I will see what I can do.It is a shame that Chatham dockyard which is less than a mile away do not do anything with it as they already have HMS Ocelot on display. A cold war exhibit would be good with one from each side.PeterComment

I Agree. I have a post under "General Topics" on "Foxtrot Stuff" that I have amassed quite a few pictures. Check it out. Its on the second page of "General Topics"Last edited by greenman407; 11-12-2012, 12:54 PM.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment
