One of my goals for the Seaview restoration is to detail the flying sub bay and to add a scale version of the flying sub. I have already contacted Dennis at DeBoer Hulls but regrettably he no longer has a usable set of molds for the flying sub kit. Does anyone have one of the DeBoer flying sub kits that they would like to sell OR does anyone know of a suitable substitute? Please advise.

The old Aurora monogram kit is closest in size.
If it's for a static diorama display just lean fs-1 up against a rock the size will look correctComment

There's gotta be tons of 3D files out there, like this one for free on Thingiverse.com: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1697326. Pick your scale and print away!Comment

Just a thought, Groot.

Less important than scale for something like this is the room you have to work with. The Flying sub nestles in there pretty tightly. If we just scale the file to something that looks right, we'll be golden.Comment

Going from memory here, as Seaview (while cool) is not my favorite boat, so I'm not familiar with intricate details. The Moebius boat I think cleared the sides by a really slim margin. Here is a pic of the boat nestled in her berth:
Assuming the berth is wider than longer, you could probably target a Flying Sub that is around 5" wingtip to wingtip. Sound right?
If you need a hand in printing, just let me know and I'll take a stab at it for you...

Bob, YES PLEASE!!!!!!! Take a stab and see what you can do. In the meantime, I'm going to try to figure out how Kirk would have confronted this problem and why HWSNBN keeps popping up in my threads.Comment
