Second try, the first post wasn't approved due to much pictures at once,

This event was during three days, we arrived on friday,

The pool which was used during the event, a shallow part, about 1,5 mtr deep and a deep part, about 3 mtr deep.

David is gonna love this one, a Albacore big scale, weight about 35 kg, max propulsion power a staggering 1000 watt !!!, talked with the builder, he wasn't able to run at full power because the pool was too small, also included a arduino controlled depthsystem when hoovering the boat.

    Manfred.

The front part, holding the arduino with depthkeeper, and a kind of circuit which is being used to monitor the boat, giving him information about the used power, dive time and much more.

A fast acces point to adjust the depth keeper, no hassle needed to open up the complete hatch,

This contained the charchingsystem, he only needs to open this hatch to charge the boat.

          Neat!

Typical European over-engineering on display here. You guys are nuts!!!

Yup, those germans go for speed and complexity, learned a lot from that old guy (80 years) who build the Albacore.

I do have more pictures made,

The same guy of the Albacore has also build a big scale Seehund, most of their subs are build with those Engel based piston ballasttanks, adding more complexity to the boat.

Common in use is the bajonet lock system, batteries are placed in the keel, just like the original.

When using a piston tank you need to know at which position the plunger is, to counter that they are using Hall sensors on both ends of the piston tank.

To make the Hall sensors more accurate, he placed a ring of magnets on the plunger, so it doesn't matter if the plunger will rotate during action, talking about over enginering!!!

To make the puzzle complete, he also made two torps with counter rotating screws, the secret is how to seal both shafts, he is using both O rings and lipseals

Next question is, how to start those torps, he used a extra 5 channel reciever to activate them, when activaded they only run straight, no steering and depth keeping, they are balanced just afloat
