I was just putting this in my calendar and noticed that Saturday is the 7th and Sunday the 8th (versus the 8th and 9th). Didn't want anyone showing up on Monday and wondering where everybody was ;)..

          Ray, et al........

I took the liberty of posting the announcement on two other sites I'm a Member of.....

          RC Groups: Submarines, Member qty-Unknown

Facebook: Cold War Submarine Veterans, Member qty-10k+

I added the 2015 Fun Run by Ken Druze to both as a draw.

Many retired Subvets at the 2nd who visit the base frequently, hopefully stir some interest.

Will point them here as well.

              Rick,

Good point! I'm still working on my US citizenship, so I'm on my Canuck passport. I wonder if I'd be allowed in?

We have a no-bacon, no-squid throwing, no hockey policy at the event. Sorry! Our news is all about the southern boarder, and that Invasion. I sweat the northern boarder. My god, Spanish speaking American stations is bad enough … but French too?????!!!!!!!

The Base used to let the Mackenzie Brothers in with their strange brew from The Great White North.
                    That included Rich Teskey.
I will pass this through Joe Oliver, who is in contact with the base. Take Off, Eh!

The short answer was it (FN) is apparently NOT a show stopper!

In 2017 I had asked Joe this in the past on hopes of getting Rick on, below is the last portion of an email thread he never responded to:

What's in blue is the answer we need, what's in red is IMPORTANT!

I guess my question is we provide:

full name, date of birth , place of birth and social security number, plus a Valid Diver License #.

What do they do about SSN?

I see someone like Rick has everything BUT a valid SSN.

Checked with the security folks. There shouldn't be a problem if they provide the required information. Should be simple.

                        Joe

Yeah, we're becoming a hit on the Sub-Driver board.
Little to nothing on the SC board lol!

FWIW, I like it as it is. Fun run no competition.

                        Joe,

Now that I have your ear lol......

I thought I asked this earlier, but I want to make sure.

This is a question from last weeks run:

What's the deal regarding base access for foreign nationals during our fun runs?

Rick Teskey (Canadian) thinks it's a no. I thought Ray said it was possible.

What would they need if it is?

Suggestions for rooms? If I flew in what is the best airport to fly into? I need very affordable. Trying to work out the $.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

It would be great if you can make it in, Tom.

You can bunk in with us, we'll be at the Motel-8 Friday through Sunday.
We'll make room: Ellie and I get one bed, her sister the other, and you the tub or floor, you're call. Whatcha bringing?

I do not know for sure what I will bring. First step is to get there.
