If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Methinks ArkModel scanned (copied) the Revell kit. Can anyone out there make a liar out of me?

Well this is China, after all... I've heard that they have been known to copy a few things over the years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't vertical rust streaks supposed to stop at the waterline?

(And those rivets must be sticking out about 4" if to scale?)

I do think all of this is immaterial, bearing in mind Ark model seem to be about as reliable as a 30 year old Lada when it comes to supply.

They had a great starter kit a while back called the Red Shark, which was a simplified version of their Dragon Shark. Perfect beginners boat, but the odd few people I know of who tried to get one find them to be unobtanium.

I'm aware some modellers managed to get their stuff okay, but it seems to be hit and miss. What gives with that company anyway?

Had a look at Arkmodel's site. The kit cost about $268.09.

I have an experimental order in process for subs and torpedo launchers. We'll see!

I have been informed by my office that the ARK MODEL products are in stock, SONG subs and Perkasa MTB.

That was quick and shows Mr. Feng is working hard to accommodate us!

Good to hear, Mike. You'll find no rivet on those Song hulls & I can attest to that.

Ask him how he intends to fix this new kit: either redo the tooling, have workers sand off the rivets or simply call it creative license & leave it as is?

I visited Arkmodel once. It was a very interesting day. Came back with all the WTC for a Song and the hull etc came as promised a couple of weeks later. Since then I've had maybe three orders for various spares, everything always turned up, no problems. The Song Class works well, though I did alter a few minor things. Maybe the most significant was that the solenoid valve, I felt, was too small in the bore for the rest of the system....pump thus ran too hot for me. And it was a real fiddle getting the control horns all hooked up way down the end of that hull.....otherwise good. Very nice photo etch and whatever plastic or composite the control surfaces and prop are done in, its v. durable.

                          Well that's good to hear.

Their Red Shark looks like a great boat for beginners looking for a relatively inexpensive route into the hobby, and is ideal for a static conversion. A Robbe Seawolf with the creases ironed out. However I would like to see a few more satisified customers before I recommend them again.

Hmm! Not sure Brian. I have been informed (from a very reliable source) that most of the existing inventory has been moved to the USA and that this model will be available in March. I have been told all molds are now here in the USA and production will start shortly. There! That's a turn up!
The retail on the model is approximately $275.00 and considering the size and the detail, I'd say this was a steal! I'll place an order based on these prices and we'll see how it goes. I have been reluctant to carry much inventory simply because of the terrible service record of Arkmodel, however things have changed. What I can say is that now we can recover monies lost via the legal system in the USA, it puts us in a much more comfortable position. We also won't have to front up thousands of dollars in pre-order fees, and then worry for a couple of months on whether or not we'll ever see our goods.

You all know that you can rely on us to provide you with the goods in a timely manner, and if you use a credit card, you have protection from that. In fact you can pay us with anything you like, cash, check credit card etc. and you know we won't stiff you. We have our Better Business Bureau reputation to uphold. We're also rated highly on Dunn & Bradstreet and we won't be letting either of those go awry!

If anyone is mildly interested in this boat, give me a pre - order (no cash required) and I'll get you on the list for delivery in March.

I have placed an order with ARK and it is due in March so they say, but the Shipping was very hard on me, and I like to have two of most every model I build.
