    Another Type VII/c

I see that Arkmodel showed off a new 1:48 Type VII/c at iHobby Expo over the weekend. Certainly looks good from this shot but my only question is why not something different like a Type VI or even, God forbid, something that's not German???

Geez. That would be 1.4 meters long! 55 inches. That's pretty respectable.

I love the size too. Perfect.

Now ... if only Feng would follow-through!

Do you reckon thats 1:48??? looks too small otherwise that A4 paper is really A3 sized.

Its definitely 1:48 considering its size alongside the Type 39 Song; slated release is set for mid-2013. Feng was also showing his new 1:72 Kilo.

If the sub kits are of reasonable quality and Feng's agreeable to a reasonable distributor's discount, maybe Mike will put the arm on him for some of those kits, minus the internals. The 1/48 Type-7 and 1/72 KILO are on my bucket list.

Ballpark figure how much something like this ( basic hull no internal wtc) would cost.
Make it simple, make strong, make it work!

I saw a comment from on Resin Illuminati that its an ABS hull which makes sense now seeing the separation lines in the above photos.

Here's a couple more interesting pics from a company called Ark Models. They make LARGE scale Warships and subs for R/C control. Most of the hulls are ABS, and come with photo-Etch. Probably not cheap, but as the owner pointed out they can be easily modeled static.

Here's a 1/48 Type VII uboat---the ABS hull has as much rivet detail as my 1/72 Revell kit!

If this kit is any indication ( http://www.microsofttranslator.com/b...vlbel0oriqktr0 ), then it will be over $400. But that includes a WTC.

...seems a smart move to me if the Robbe u47 is going / gone out of production. This one looks a lot better too.

To second David's comment, when will this be offered for sale on the Sub-Driver site?

Yea, the are a tad heavy, aren't they, but at least not those softball sized heads Lindberg's I-boat featured.
