ENOUGH ALREADY! You get the idea. Magnitude on the order of 10 for clean almost mistake free detail........down to the last rivet. On the wheel house there are two lights that are not lit in the movie. They are right above the two large round view ports. I am going to light them with LEDs on a switch from the transmitter. All the other LEDs will be on all the time. The wheel house itself will be lit internally with "daylight" color LEDS to be seen thru those round viewports......especially at night.

Dave, what size are those LEDS? And what size resistor for each did you use?

              Mark,
The size of the resistor will depend on the voltage coming in, the voltage the LED needs, and the mA it uses.
the formula to calculate the resistor you need works like this:
(source volts - LED Volts) / (current or mA / 1000) = the resistor needed

So, you have a LED listed as 3.5V 25mA, you are running 11.1v battery, the formula would look like this:
              (11.1 - 3.5) / (25/1000) = resistance
              (7.6) / (.025) = 304ohm resistor
Since there is not a 304ohm resistor, you go to the next size up 330 ohm. You can go higher if the LED is too bright and you want to dim it down a bit.
              peace,
              tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Thanks Tom. That is useful. Ive been buying them already made up.

Here are some freeze frames from 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. Using them will be helpful to achieve the best finish.

Aw yes, the research! Great captures. Your welcome on the formula, I should have mentioned it when I sent you the LEDs.

OK so Dave, why did you cut the upper hull in front of the wheel house when the hull comes apart down the center? Also it appears that your superstructure is completely loose from the rest of the upper hull , whereas mine is attached?

                          Mark,

Dave wound up with a Total Immersions (unauthorized recast) to work with for his build. Lee changed up the pieces a bit in an effort to hide the fact that he re-cast Scott Brodeen's boat (and actually did quite a few cool things at the same time, but...)

OK well that answers that. Ive spent some time this Morning cleaning up the flash on this hull. Especially around the blades and such. We want them to look pristine and SHARP. This afternoon Ill be adding a little bit of body filler to the lower front sealing edge of the wheel house to address the small gap and a few air bubbles elsewhere. Im just continually amazed at the loads of detail. I just this morning noticed two lifting rings on the left and right of the rear hatch. Gotta love it.
