Good news! The rear pods are holding up the rear with plenty to spare. I should be very close after all the detail parts are on.

I do need to rework the rear nozzle as it is too constricting. It creates a vortex in the tunnel after a few seconds. With it off, everything is fine. New one will be very short and non compressing. I realize I could put an impeller in there with proper ducting but I am trying to keep this one a simple conversion.

This is going to be a really interesting sub to see run. It is so unique and will generate a lot of questions. There is something about it that excites the imagination. I like it!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

First test run today and I was able to keep a nice depth after some trimming. Lake visibility is terrible right now so I kept everything close to shore. Turning radius is pretty good so I am going ahead with paint....

You could call it Aqua kampfer ( Aqua Fighter) or Unterwasserkämpfer ( Underwater Fighter )

Allied code name Humpback ( those front dive planes are like the whales elongated flippers)

                      Just suggestions...

Thanks guys...Red, I like "Unterwasserkämpfer" and will probably put that on the stand. Paint is going on now. Will do some updates when there is something to show.

Sneak peek of the paint progress. Most of the airbrushing is done. Letters and insignias next followed by chipping and rust.

Look! The guy can airbrush too. I would have made a mess of that. Perhaps, when you find clearer water, you can shoot an operational video.
