What are you using for a vent valve?
Make it simple, make strong, make it work!

I used a standard FESTO valve, 12 V DC, this valve was allready present inside the boat, used it to seal off the ballasttank when the peristaltic pump was switched off.
Normally you don't have to do this, but i like to over engineer things.

Typically the vent valve is located at the top of the ballast tank. Here you have a pipe leading to the valve body inside the dry space. Do you see any potential problems with this set up, would the tank vent properly as with the valve directly atop the tank?

          Romel,

My air outlet is also placed on top of the tank, did the same with my type VII, works like a charm for more than 20 years, the only issue you have is, yearly maintenance on the valve by taking it apart and cleaning it, if neglected you got yourself a jammed valve.

The boat is almost ready for running in the open water, still have to tinker a bit to get her perfectly level underwater, made a vid with the V80 in the bath, enjoy

To answer Romel's curiosity, divingtime about 30 seconds, and time to surface about 15 sec, a big improvement compared with the peristaltic pump, when she is all done i can conduct some testruns to see which results i get from the overhauling.

            The testprogram will be simple,

            - checking speed on the surface as well underwater, all done with maximum speed, no reduction on the throttle.
            - tuning in the ADF to get the best performance underwater.
            - running the standard 8 figure on the surface as well underwater.
            - re-checking the maximum drivetime, for now it was about 2,5 hours full speed.

This pile got out, i want to avoid this mess of wires in the rebuild.

              More to come next days.

I'm in bit of a hurry with rebuilding the V80, decided to make a vid of the current stage, i have less as a week to get it together and testing it for the next meeting in Holland, if there are requests about more details, feel free to ask.
