I went looking thru my "Archives" for some pictures. Unfortunately, I dont have much on this type, showing the masts. Here is what I found.Click image for larger version

Great job on the paint and weathering work there, Hardrock. Good stuff, Mark. Thanks, guys. It' time for me to re-visit my old 1/72 ALFA.

Thanks men. Appreciate the photos and the feed back. And thank you David for the bits and pieces - really helped a lot. "Short sail, long sail"? Are there two versions?

I just read that the Alpha prop was made of titanium. Does that sound right?

                  That's one tough machining job.

Wondering if anyone (this means you Peter!) has any photographs of the Alpha's masts. Specifically the middle one with the radar dome on top.

Forgot to add a thanks to Mark for the last lot of Alpha mast photographs. It seems really hard to get a clear, close up view of the middle do-daddy (technical term). So far my best guess looks like this; but its a guess.

Thanks Mate. The bloody thing looks different in EVERY photograph. Originally I thought that it had a square base with a radome on top but it appears to have two plate antennas - one on each side and a planar antenna at the front. Confusing.

Looks like the plate antennas are positioned on the long axis in this photo, and there are "balls" under the radome that I can't see on any of the Alpha photographs.
