Ya Know.........If I spray clear flat to get rid of the gloss, its liable to become too light in color. Dave, you mentioned earlier to use Black and add a little white to get the color. Would it be easier and use less paint if I started with white and slowly added the black? Seems like it would take a lot of white to tone down the black but very little black to darken the white. -
Thanks, The pictures dont do it justice. They were taken with flash. Its actually much darker than it appears. Its not black to be sure but a dark, dark grey. It is too glossy, thats for sure.Leave a comment:

OK, before and after. Its still wet. We will see after it dries to see what color we will have.

I'm with you. Just hit it with some air to blow out the water, then splash on some oil after each use and you're good to go.

Going back to the Duo-prop setup. I decided that I dont like the rear most bearing. Its sealed. In the past I have removed the seal flashing from the bearing. This one you cant remove the flashing. Im afraid water will get in and you will have no way to flush it. With an open Stainless Steel bearing you can flush it before and after entering the water. The first picture is of the sealed bearing and the next ones are the new open bearings.

Not a very clear picture but this is the sail vent that I cobbled together. Im trying to reproduce the real vent.......ofcourse...........but without the necessary skill or tools. I took Subcultures advice and taped around it and put a thick coat of paint on it to represent the sheet metal grill frame that surrounds it. Ill lightly sand it and clean up the vertical slats a little before painting the model.Leave a comment:

The first picture is a end view of my sanding block for getting into tight places. Its a brass tube wrapped with sandpaper. I used it to sand the turtleback where it joins the deck. I will, however score the joint lightly with a scribing tool. I put a straight edge along the edges that you refer to. Using the straight edge they look pretty close.
