I worked on the grille on the starboard side last night. Man thats tedious work. My little fingers are still too big for this. Its a good thing that I have this vision magnifying cap. Yep, there was a time you young wippersnappers, that I could see up close with clarity, 3" in front of my face. Well, now I have to back off to about 12" or so, then its too far away to see what I need to see. Dear oh Dear! Dadblameitall!!

This was sent to me by Jim Wakefield, the man in charge of upkeep on the museum Albacore. It shows the plexiglass window on the upper front of the sail. It is there to give men on watch a way to see forward and yet be shielded from the elements. As he said, those very same elements have turned the once clear plexiglass into a non transparent grey.
