All the draftmarks done! Modified my technique by using the clear plastic sheet as a template to cut out the bars from the tape, i.e. sticking a stripe of tape to the template, cutting out and putting that masking tape on the hull. Results are ok, working time very short. Objective achieved!

Greetings! Am currently finishing the paintjob. Little to none hobby time at the moment, been busy setting up our new garage!
spraying of the draft marks. Port side using a sticky tape, starboard tried plastic sheet template to safe time. Both need some finalization...Leave a comment:

Update on painting: Rubbed down the flat grey, dry brushing the rails with aluminum, adding subtile rust and streaking to the floodholes etc. Rust made from red and flat ocre, sprayed over with flat grey on some spots of the hull to reduce the effect. Will wait 'til tomorrow to inspect waterline. I think its right now.

Taped the waterline and covered the lower hull.
Sprayed over with the final dark grey. Mixed up 3 portions black with one portion light grey, single-action airbrush set to very thin until i got a very fine soft spray effect.Cut with nitro-thinner and sprayed over. Time-consuming, very little paint per shot. Of 40ml paint i used 10ml in about 30 minutes.
Picture no.1 showing first layer to the left and untouched hull on the right.
Will brush and wipe the upper hull after curing. Edges/rustmarks/aluminum silver on the rails and dome etc. from the detailing were left visible as is a slight streaking on the limber holes as planned.
I tried to catch that in the pictures. Figured my HD-photos will be SD in here for any reason
All thats left should be minor detailing...and very little bird poo.
Comments welcome.

I came across this video on the Beluga development and trials which gives an interesting insight into the features of the submarine. As well as wind tunnel test models there are some views of the angle of attack vanes on top of the sail in operation, as well as a test of the polymer ejection system in drydock:
The autotranslate function of Youtube with the closed captions works reasonably well to provide English subtitles of the narration (selected "CC" at the bottom right of the screen , then autotranslate from settings icon to the right of that).

Some sort of sensors for the polymer flow around the hull.
Anyone able to translate?
