Those are amazingly detailed, Bob. Once my current print finishes I'll give them a bash! Cheers!

What kind of material do you use and what print setting? The surface looks really smooth.

I use Deft resin in a Peopoly Phenom printer - just running with the defaults at the moment and seems to be quite good.

Oh that's awesome. It's been a struggle to get good images. I searched for Snoop Pair and all I got was a Rapper. :)

RCSubGuy Bob can you advise if you had to take any poetic licence with any of the scopes based on lack of information, or did you find good sources?
              The Radian especially looks fantastic.

I will see what I can find on the Salyut radio sextant.

              Thanks,
              Colin.

Some one once sent me these pictures. But as I really don't build Russian subs, not much use to me. I don't know how real they are.

The Typhoon has the twin dish Snoop pair, as seen in the photo above, not the single as shown in the drawing. The drawing also doesn't show the Rim Hat, and had at least the satellite antenna in the wrong position.

I see I mixed up two radio sextant designs I was halfway through creating the Saiga style..

ID:	163918 Note the final shot is not a Typhoon, but is clearer than some of the other shots. The Rim Hat hear appears to have 8 nodes, not six. Also the plans that come with the files seem to be in the correct order for scope/antenna position.

Well, printing is done. Time spent is shown below...the times are all rounded up to the nearest hour, so this is a bit overstated, but close enough.

I am doing some reprints of the rear rudder parts as the Elegoo resin is way too brittle for functional parts so I'm looking at another 9 hours of printing for those items.

Laying the sub out end to end gives me this...pretty much.

It's going to need a lot of reinforcement. I saw the USS Jimmy Carter being built by SubDude (I see what you did there) and am looking for carbon fibre tube to reinforce first before laying down the fiberglass matting. One section has warped slightly - nothing major but it needs correction. I'll need to make some doodads to hold the tubing to the hull most likely too. I'm really wondering how I'm going to keep this thing a consistent width so that the top is snug on the bottom. Thinking cap time - I'll have to wait until I get my starter kit from RCSubGuy to do a lot of this tho.

                          More soon...

Waht you need ist the elegoo ABS-lik resin.

I haven't done a lot of experimentation with the Elegoo resins, but for sure, I need to find something different. Looks like this is the one you're referring to?

Most of my printing to date on the Mars has been ornamental stuff, but I'll try the ABS-like resin as a replacement to my usual.

The standard resin is very, very brittle. I second that. For my Type XXIII project I print everything with the ABS-like resin, which has much more flexibility and is by far harder to break.
