The forward hatch detail was just a little to prominent for my taste so I made a slight change.
Before...
After...
It's not quite as pronounced now. I will do the same for the aft hatch after the part is printed. I am really liking how this particular boat is turning out.
Actually, a couple of the extra hatches that David Ruiz made for his Type IX build I am working on will fit perfectly on this sub. I should be able to come close to following David Merimans fine example of this on his Threshers. I still have to make the hatch cover plate but that will be easy.

593 and later classes did not have exposed handwheels on the hatches. The hatch cover was a flat plate with only a 1 - 1.5" diameter hole for a divers wrench socket to fit into. The messenger bouy cable end swivel is affixed to the flat plate via a nifty looking connector.Comment

Good stuff. Can never have too much information.

Just down to two parts left to print. The upper parts are glued together except for the sail as well as the lower parts. The detail for both hatches is in place and I added the plates on the upper rear of the sail. Aside from a few easy modifications to some of the hull section joining rings where there were interference issues it is perhaps the cleanest hull I have printed yet. I am going to pay extra attention to the detail and finish of this boat.
